A selection of English ESL animal　adjective printables

Have your students choose describing adjectives from the different boxes and write them under each animal. These adjectives are merely meant as suggestions, and the best thing is if they can come up with suggestions of their own. Also have them write down the name of each animal.

This can either be used as an individual worksheet, or a basis for a group or class discussion.

Describing animals (adjectives)

Students look at the pictures of three different Australian animals; the koala, emu and kangaroo. They must read the sentences and choose the right adjective, verb or verb form..

The aim of this worksheet is to practice some of the most common animal similes, that is, similes which compare people (or things) to animals. A word game where you win if you are fast in remembering nouns, verbs, adjectives,clothes, animals, and countries beginning with the same letter. Play in in groups min. 2 students. You can add extra points if the spelling is right.Maybe use dictionaries. You just need to print page 1 for each student, and keep page 2 for explanation. My students have fun doing it.

Word game

Pupils practise their first steps in writing. They write about animals. For the text they need adjectives, body parts, places, verbs and colours to describe their animals. Afterwards they can describe their animals in class and the others have to guess.
